I am interested in Discrete mathematics/Combinatorics. In particular I am interested in the probabilistic method, which I don't know much beyond a course I took at UCLA.
I did two NSF funded REU programs:
REU 2011: UCSB (University of California Santa Barbara). I worked under the supervision of professor Fernando de Teran, and the project resulted in the following publication: The solution of the equation AX+X*B=0. Linear Algebra Appl. 438 (2013) 2817-2860.
REU 2012: SDSU (San Diego State University). I worked under the supervision of professor Vadim Ponomarenko and the project resulted in the following publication: Irreducible Factorization Lengths and the Elasticity Problem Within N. American Mathematical Monthly 120 (4) 2013, pp. 322-328.
